The Genesis G80 offers many reasons to take a test drive.

The Genesis brand is doing things differently—and from the pre-purchase consultation to the built-in concierge services to the compelling product offerings sold under a time-saving pricing model, the market’s freshest luxury carmaker is connecting with shoppers in innovative new ways.

Of course, the cars are at the core of the Genesis brand—and with the popular Genesis G80, there’s a wide range of reasons to arrange a test drive. Below, we’ll look at five of the most compelling.

A Safety Flagship

The Genesis G80 packs nothing short of the industry’s latest in hazard detection technology as standard equipment. Designed to supplement more traditional safety systems, features like Lane Departure Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking keep drivers and passengers more safe, more of the time. The Genesis G80 can provide early warning of hazards, help drivers control their way around emergency situations, and protect all occupants should a collision be inevitable. In fact, with both a Top Safety Pick+ and a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating under its belt, the Genesis G80 has achieved the highest possible safety scores from two industry authorities.

The Sophisticated Cabin

The Genesis G80’s cabin is designed to captivate, coddle and impress occupants at all times. At a glance, the sense of space, abundant use of top-end materials, and playful application of contrasting colors and textures generate a rich and sophisticated look that stands up to close inspection. Driver comfort is enhanced by touches like dual-zone front climate control, and a full array of automatic features and memory settings. Simply configure your Genesis G80’s features the way you like, and store the settings at the push of a button.

Segment-leading Standard 311 Horsepower

With a 311-horsepower V6 engine standard, and two even more potent engines on the options list, Genesis is a performance force not to be taken lightly. All available G80’s powerplants utilize the latest fuel-saving, performance enhancing technology, and are engineered exhaustively for powerful forward thrust, quiet operation, and absolute refinement at all times. The available twin-turbocharged V6 offers up 365 horsepower, and the five-liter Tau® V8 engine delivers 420.

Genesis Service Valet

Forget tying up any of your day to bring your Genesis G80 to the dealer for servicing. Genesis Service Valet handles that for you—so when your car needs servicing, maintenance, or in the unlikely event that it needs a repair, a Genesis Service Valet representative will pick your Genesis G80 up wherever you like, leave a Genesis courtesy car behind as a loaner, and return your car when it’s ready to go.

Driver-centric High Tech

The Genesis G80’s designers and technologists considered everything to bring drivers the very latest in high-tech gadgets. Some examples include the Heads-up Display (HUD), which projects vital running data onto the lower edge of the windscreen like a hologram. There’s even a Multi-view Camera System, which gives drivers a full 360 degrees of high-resolution camera coverage, right from the central screen. Genesis G80 is brimming with the sort of technology that’ll delight for years to come.

I'm impressed with the Genesis line and will definitely check out the G80 as my next vehicle possibility. I do wish the G80 Sport had the V8 available. Or update the V8 with the steering wheel and black headliner as options from the Sport model.

Every thing I have seen and read suggests Genesis is an up and comer. I know before I return my Audi4 at the end of my lease, I am going to give the G80 and the G70 a heck of a test drive. I came close to buying a Hyundai a few years ago. It was a great car, but the Jaguar dealer just across the street got my money. However, maybe the next time I will save some money with Genesis.
