Cadillac Escala Set for Production
A new report says that Cadillac will be putting the stunning Escala concept into production. Finally.
It comes a roundabout way, through a rumor from Auto Forecast Solutions cited in a video by Autoline Daily. Even better, the gorgeous four-door coupe will keep the Escala name, and not an alphabet soup badge.
The report says that the Escala will ride on GM’s Omega platform. The only car riding on that architecture is the CT6. Which makes sense, becasue the report says that the production Escala will be built at the same Hamtramck plant that builds that car. The Omega platform debuted with the 2016 CT6 and is designed for full-size rear or all-wheel drive luxury cars.

The Escala concept debuted in 2016, and it was very much a concept, so don’t expect the production car to be identical. But if it brings 90 percent of the concept’s style to the street, this will be a very cool car.
If the information is correct, this will likely be Cadillac’s new flagship. It’s supposed to enter production in December 2021.
