Spy photographers have caught the next-generation Mercedes-AMG A45 testing.

Expected to pack over 400 horsepower, the next-generation Mercedes-AMG A45 won’t be offered in North America, but it gives us a preview of what the CLA45 and GLA45 models will entail. The prototype is sporting the brand’s Panamericana grille, while wearing a low stance, wide wheels, and large air intakes hidden underneath the camouflage on the front bumper. Out back, we can see a quad-exhaust setup, but the German automaker is using traditional round tips instead of the exhaust finishers found on the current model.

The new A45 is expected to come standard with 4MATIC all-wheel drive, and it should get a larger rear spoiler by the time it arrives in production form. Look for the next-generation A45 to make its debut sometime next year before heading to dealerships in late 2018. The related CLA45 and GLA45 models shouldn’t be far behind.
