The Mercedes GLC is relatively new, but the German automaker is already giving the facelift a crossover.

The luxury crossover segment has gotten very competitive in recent years, and Mercedes wants to stay ahead by giving the GLC an update. Spy photographers were able to get photos of the updated GLC’s interior, revealing a larger infotainment system and a new steering wheel, both of which are the same as the C-Class facelift. There’s also a new touchpad controller and a digital instrument cluster seen on this particular prototype.

It is expected that the German automaker will also give the GLC new powertrain options, possibly the inline six-cylinder engines found in the new CLS. Look for improvements to performance, fuel economy, and emissions from the new engines.

Although the prototype isn’t heavily camouflaged, don’t expect to see the updated GLC making its debut until next year.
