A mysterious photo of a yet-to-be-unveiled Lamborghini concept has surfaced on social media.

Motor Trend journalist Jonny Lieberman posted the above image on his Instagram account today, showing the front end of a mystery Lamborghini model with some futuristic headlight signatures. The caption confirmed the car will explore the use of new materials, which is one major aspect of the concept. The other, Lieberman says, is the engine “or lack thereof.” We’re not sure what he could be alluding to, but he also said batteries won’t “quite” be what’s providing drive here. We have questions.

The description also said the concept is being shown at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In October of last year, Lamborghini announced it had partnered with the university to create “a project that intends to write an important page in the future of super sports cars for the third millennium.” The release also said the project is “very ambitious,” and the resulting car will be “ready for the challenges of the third millennium.”

One thing we can confirm is that this concept will preview the styling direction for the next-generation V12 flagship from Lamborghini. The automaker recently said the Aventador’s replacement will retain the naturally aspirated V12 engine and won’t be a plug-in hybrid, so it doesn’t seem as though the concept’s powertrain will inspire the flagship Lambo. The Huracan replacement, meanwhile, is expected to marry a V10 engine with a battery electric powertrain for greater efficiency.

The Lamborghini concept is set to be unveiled on Monday, so stay tuned for more information.
