Before you get any ideas that this is the new Popemobile, the Lamborghini Huracan RWD is crossing the auction block for charity.

The Italian automaker has created a special, one-of-a-kind Huracan RWD for His Holiness Pope Francis, and it will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s on May 12, 2018. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Holy Father who will allocate them accordingly to several different projects and charities.

One is the reconstruction of the Nineveh Plain under the patronage of the Pontifical Foundation “Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre,” which means Aid to the Church in Need. The project’s goal is to ensure the return of a Christian community to the Nineveh Plain in Iraq, through the rebuilding of homes, public edifices, and places of worship.

Proceeds will also benefit the Pope John XXIII Community, dedicated to helping women who are victims of trafficking and other abuses. In addition, two Italian associations, GICAM and “Amici per il Centrafica,” (Friends for Central Africa) will also benefit. The two associations carry out activities mainly in Africa, primarily to aiding women and children in need.

As for the exotic itself, the Huracan RWD was created in homage to the Vatican and comes from Lamborghini’s customization department called “Ad Personam.” The car pays tribute to the colors of the flag of Vatican City, painted in Bianco Monocerus with Giallo Tiberino accents.
