2019 Lincoln Nautilus Leaks Ahead of Los Angeles Debut
Looks like Lincoln’s motor cars will get real names again.
Lincoln has been threatening to ditch its “MK” naming scheme since 2015, and the leak confirms the brand will take its first steps away from its currently confusing alphanumeric scheme by replacing the MKX nameplate with Nautilus for the 2019 model year.
AutoGuide.com first reported on the Nautilus name in September, after uncovering a trademark application filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The leaked photos, published by Chris Doane Automotive, show the SUV adopting a Continental-style face similar to the new look MKC the brand unveiled last week, ditching the whale tail winged grille in favor of a more traditional, rectangular aperture, along with less angular headlamps. Almost as if a Jaguar F-Pace and an Audi Q5 were smashed together.
The rear also appears to have received a slight update as well, the shape of the tail lights looks to be slightly massaged, along with swapping the predominately red light bar for a more translucent euro-style unit. Interior photos were not published.
Details remain forthcoming, but the 2019 Lincoln Nautilus is heavily expected to make its official debut this week during the 2017 L.A. Auto Show.
