The iconic Lincoln Continental nameplate has been resurrected and the sedan has taken home the AutoGuide.com 2017 Reader’s Choice Luxury Car of the Year award.

Starting from $45,485, the Lincoln Continental breaks into the luxury segment with gorgeous styling, although some may not find it flashy enough. The American automaker offers three engine options for the Continental: A 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque and a 3.7-liter V6 generating 305 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. All three powerplants are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Inside, drivers can expect a quiet and luxurious experience with plenty of comfort and excellent rear seat amenities.

“Lincoln has a solid stable of cars now, and while most of them are viewed as dressed up Fords, the Continental is nothing of the sort,” AutoGuide.com‘s Sami Haj-Assaad said in his review. “It’s unique all the way around, and there’s nothing in the Ford lineup that does what this car does. If Continental means the best that the company has to offer, this seems to fit the bill.”

With eight different vehicle categories voted for in this year’s 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards, Acura took home the coveted title of Reader’s Choice Car of the Year. Chevrolet earned itself two Reader’s Choice wins for the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport as the Reader’s Choice Sports Car of the Year, while the Chevrolet Bolt was named Reader’s Choice Green Car of the Year. The Reader’s Choice Luxury Car of the Year honors goes to the Lincoln Continental. In the Reader’s Choice Utility Vehicle of the Year, the Mazda CX-9 grabbed top honors, while the Reader’s Choice Luxury Utility Vehicle of the Year was the Jaguar F-Pace. The Ford F-150 Raptor took home Reader’s Choice Truck of the Year and the McLaren 570S earned Reader’s Choice Exotic Car of the Year.
