Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that Tesla Model 3 reservations of $1,000 can be made starting March 31.

Interested customers can put down reservations for the car in Tesla stores on March 31, while online reservations can be made starting April 1.

The all-electric Model 3 (depicted above in an artist’s rendering) has been promised to have a range of around 200 miles with a starting price of $35,000 before incentives.

Musk also noted that no Signature Series versions of the Model 3 will be offered. These were special packages that came on the first run of Model S sedans and Model X crossovers. Still, he says that the highly optioned versions of the car will be sold first.

It also still isn’t clear exactly how many details will be revealed on March 31. “Yeah, we’re trying to decide whether we should show all the cards or keep a few cards close to the vest, I haven’t made decision yet,” said Musk in an earnings call with investors.

Tesla obviously thinks that whatever it shows next month will be enough to sway buyers to put down money.
