The 2017 Jaguar XE will arrive in the U.S. with a manual transmission option.

Car and Driver reports that Jaguar North American CEO Joe Eberhardt has confirmed that a manual transmission will be available on the base-model XE 25t, powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower. Currently the British automaker offers a manual transmission on the F-Type sports car with a customer take rate between 10 to 20 percent. “It is enough to be worth the investment, and we are happy with our decision,” Eberhardt added.

Unfortunately if you’re at the front of the line to get your hands on Jaguar’s newest entry-level sedan, the manual transmission won’t be available during the initial launch. Instead, it will arrive soon after the XE launches in mid-2016.

Check back with AutoGuide.com for more information on the 2017 Jaguar XE as the sedan will make its U.S. debut at the 2015 LA Auto Show this Tuesday.

Excellent decision Jag, make sure you market the shit out of the manual transmission option to help your brand.
