Fiat is adding some style to its 500 convertible.

The automaker is adding its style-first 1957 Edition to the 500 convertible lineup, allowing buyers to get an open-air car with unique looks that celebrates the Fiat 500 of the past.

Based on the 500 Lounge, the 1957 Edition adds 16-inch retro body color wheels with classic Fiat emblems in the middle, a sport-tuned suspension and classic Fiat badges on the front and rear fascias. The car can be ordered in white, light green or celestial blue and is a limited production vehicle, although Fiat didn’t say how many would be built.

On the inside, brown leather wraps the seats while ivory-colored accents are found on the dash and in the stitching. Retro Fiat badges are also found on the interior along with an upgraded stereo, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and grey door inserts which complete the look.

Power for the car comes from a 1.4-liter Multiair engine that makes 135 hp, hooked up to either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic.

Pricing for the Fiat 500 1957 Edition convertible starts at $24,700. The arrives in dealerships starting Spring of 2015.

Neat little cars, BUT Fiat and their family of cars need to get the quality up immediately. Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Fiat all have horrid quality concerns.
