Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid to Bow in Late April
Cadillac plans to show off the plug-in hybrid version of its new CT6 flagship at the Shanghai Motor Show at the end of April.
Performance from the new plug-in setup is said to be akin to the twin-turbo V6 the CT6 uses, which makes 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. This will be a new plug-in hybrid setup, rather than borrowing components from the Cadillac ELR. After the CT6 plug-in launches, the technology will eventually trickle down to the brand’s other sedans.
“We’re going to roll out plug-in hybrid technology across the spectrum of Cadillac cars,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. Thanks to all the new plug-in cars, “we won’t need a car like the ELR,” said de Nysschen.

Fuel economy is said the be around 45 mpg, though exactly how much all-electric range the car will have is unknown. The car will launch first in China before it makes its way to the United States.
