Major auto manufacturers have collectively given over $1.2 million to the relief effort in Moore, the Oklahoma City suburb devastated in last week’s tornado.

Statistics of the aftermath are brutally telling. The cyclone was 1.3 miles wide with winds churning at up to 210 miles per hour, leaving a 17-mile-long path of destruction. In its wake, the behemoth left 377 injured and 24 dead. It didn’t take long for several car companies to start pledging relief donations. Seven companies pitched in, pledging money and resources and discounts to victims who lost cars.

Honda announced a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross and said it would donate portable generators to local relief agencies. Chrysler donated the same amount to First Response Team of America.

Mazda and General Motors donated $50,000 each. Mazda is also offering victims a $500 cash discount on new vehicles and 90 days of deferred payments for qualified customers. General Motors contributed a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

Toyota and Volkswagen each pledged $250,000 and Ford gave the most of any individual company with a $400,000 donation and a transit connect van.
