Lamborghini Aventador Recalled for Headlight Problem
There’s nothing low key about driving a Lamborghini product, but 144 Aventador owners might be turning heads the wrong way.
Lamborghini just announced that it is recalling 144 of its Aventador LP700-4 flagship supercars because of a problem with the headlights. The affected vehicles were built between July 15, 2011 and April 20, 2012 and have lights that don’t conform to federal safety standards.
Some of the headlights can be aimed horizontally, but not vertically. That could mean reduced visibility for the driver, or even worse it could mean blinding oncoming traffic. Needless to say, searing an SUV driver’s eyes in a low sitting sports car isn’t safe for either party and could lead to a crash.
The automaker will begin notifying owners of the recall on December 17. Repairs will be carried out through Lamborghini’s dealer network free of charge to the owners.
