Lincoln is celebrating opening its first design center since the 1970s. The all-new Lincoln MKZ that will be arriving later this year is the first of many vehicles from the new studio.

“We have spent considerable time to develop strong integrated design, engineering and product programs into a common product development vision for Lincoln,” product development executive Raj Nair said.

The new Lincoln Design Studio is located in Dearborn, Mich. on Ford’s product development center campus. It will be home to a skilled, co-located global team of designers, sculptors, math sculptors and modelers from a dozen different countries.

Four all-new Lincoln vehicles will be designed there by 2015 as the Ford continues to reinvent the brand. About 150 design team members will work exclusively for Lincoln at the new center.
