At this year’s Paris Motor Show, Maserati is set to bring a new sports car “that opens up new frontiers in terms of exclusiveness, performance and style,” according to the Italian automaker.

The new two-seater will rival the likes of Porsche‘s 911, and will undoubtedly be referred to as the sister car of the Ferrari 458. It is undoubtedly the ‘ Pure Sport‘ that was rumored back in May of this year and chances are good that it will be a concept given that its sale date is estimated to come in 2015.

It’s currently speculated that this sports car concept will resurrect the GranSport name, sport plenty of lightweight carbon fiber in its construction, while using a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. Expect to see the car being powered by an all-new powerplant developed by Ferrari – a twin turbo V6.
