Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Celebration to Include Grand Tour of Italy

Next year, Lamborghini will celebrate its 50th anniversary in grand style and the Italian exotic automaker took advantage of this weekend’s festivities up in Monterey to announce details of just what festivities it has planned.

Kicking it all off, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann unveiled the 50th Anniversary logo that fully symbolizes what Lamborghini has been all about for the last 50 years: cutting-edge performance. On May 7th to the 11th of next year, Lamborghini will conducts its 50th Anniversary Grand Tour, which is expected to be the biggest Lamborghini rally in history. It will run the length of Italy, covering more than 750 miles of Italian roadways with hundreds of Lamborghinis.

The tour will kick off in Milan before it heads to Forte del Marmi. It will then trek on to Rome before departing to Bologna – through Orvieto – and arriving at Emilia-Romagna’s capital in the evening. On the closing day of the tour, the cars will head off from Bologna to Lamborghini’s famous factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, where all the participants will be able to see the historic museum, production facility, and enjoy a various of Lamborghini-related festivities.

A new anniversary website has launched, and until the end of 2013, it will keep Lamborghini fans and owners informed with updates on the celebration and detailed information on the Grand Tour. Those interested in participating can begin registering on September 20th, 2012.

We are certain that the events in Italy and abroad will make Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary a unique, memorable experience for all our fans, as they look forward to reliving first hand the emotions of the past, and savor the anticipation of a new and exciting future.”
