Buick has released the first official images of the new 2018 Regal GS for the Chinese market.

These images may depict the Chinese-spec Regal GS, but we’re expecting the U.S. spec version to look pretty much identical. The standard version of the Regal looks the same in China as it does in America and spy shots have also revealed the Regal GS for the U.S. will look almost exactly like this.

Setting the sporty Regal GS apart from the standard car is a black grille and exterior trim, black wheels, new side skirts and a different front fascia with large side air intakes. We also spot red brake calipers and a red ‘GS’ badge in the grille.

The interior has received similarly sporty touches such as bucket seats, black perforated leather with red accent stitching, a thick flat bottom sport steering wheel, gloss black trim and aluminum pedals.

According to info leaked through Buick’s B owner’s magazine, the 2018 Regal GS will have the automaker’s 310 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 under the hood, which will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive.

We’re expecting the U.S. spec Regal GS to debut shortly, perhaps at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show in November or at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in January.
