Now that the new Audi A5 and S5 coupes have debuted, the automaker is working on the convertible variant.

There won’t be very many surprises when the 2018 Audi A5 convertible debuts, now that the company has shown off the coupe model. But still, Audi is keeping its design concealed with plenty of camouflage and refuses to drop the top for spy photographers.

The big surprise will be how many pounds Audi can manage to shed off the convertible’s weight, since the coupe was able to lose about 130 pounds thanks to the new MLB Evo platform.

Powerplants under the hood will mirror the coupe model, meaning the A5 convertible will receive a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine with 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Naturally Audi will also add an S5 convertible to the lineup, sporting a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine with 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Depending on its weight loss, expect the new A5 and S5 convertible to also sip less fuel than before.
