Despite a full redesign, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander price has dropped by $200.

The Japanese automaker has announced that the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander will start from $23,845 including destination. The crossover gets an expanded standard features package that includes new LED positioning lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights and a reconfigured interior with a new steering wheel, improved second-row seating, accent trim, seating surfaces and headliner.

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander originally made its debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show and its two powertrains will carryover from the previous model. That means the 2016 Outlander can be had with either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 166 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque or a larger 3.0-liter V6 with 224 hp and 215 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder engine is paired to a revised CVT while the V6 gets an automatic transmission.

“The 2016 Outlander has a dynamic new design and a long list of engineering upgrades—it literally looks, drives and feels like an entirely new vehicle,” said MMNA Executive Vice President, Don Swearingen. “Despite all of the improvements to the vehicle, we made the starting MSRP lower than the previous model year to make it an even more compelling value than before and to attract new buyers to the brand.”
