2016 Mazda MX-5 Fuel Economy Rated at 30 MPG Combined
Ratings for 2016 Mazda MX-5 fuel economy usage have been released.
The car, which is exclusively powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder SkyActiv engine in North America, is officially rated to return 27 MPG in the city, 34 on the highway and an average of 30 MPG when equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. Opt for the six-speed automatic and the highway mileage climbs by two to sit at 36 MPG while the other two ratings remain the same.

Power output for the new MX-5 is pegged at 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque while the car’s curb weight starts at just 2,332 pounds with a manual transmission. The 2016 Mazda MX-5 fuel economy ratings have made significant MPG gains over the previous 2015 model, which was rated at 21 MPG in the city and 28 on the highway.
Pricing for the car begins at $25,735. The 2016 MX-5 is expected to start arriving in dealers by late summer.
